Mexico City is apparently the second most instagrammed destination in Mexico, after Cancún. What is it about Mexico City that makes it so popular with Instagram users? Maybe its vibrant colours, historical monuments or the amazing picture ready street food. Maybe it’s a combination of all of them. This is the reason we put together a guide to the 5 most Instagrammable places in CDMX.
Kiosko Morisco, Santa María de la Ribera
A not very well known spot, but a destination that includes all the key features of a good Instagram photo, the Kiosko Morisco is in the Santa María la Ribera neighborhood. Constructed entirely from Steel, this masterpiece is well-known for the gorgeously Islamic-inspired geometric patterns that surround the 44 external and eight internal pillars, as well as the ceiling and roof, which are covered by a dainty glass dome and a bronze Eagle. Definitely one attraction your Instagram can’t miss.
To get there from La Palomilla you can take the Metrobus Álvaro Obregón to the Buenavista station.
Espacio Escultórico at Ciudad Universitaria
The Espacio Escultórico is another hugely popular Instagram location in the City because of the minimalistic- geometric metal sculptures that surround the space. These make for an excellent photo-op and are also incredibly cool to see up close. Its objective is to represent the cosmos. It is a reference to the prehispanic culture; for this reason the figures were created by seven artists that belong to the Aesthetic Geometry movement. Take your cellphone there and take some cool photos.

It has a chic interior design that allows the visitor to ascend or descend in a Instagrammable spiral of wide walkways.
